 Certificant Profile-Steven Langston

‚ÄčSteven M. Langston, AIA, ACHA, EDAC, LEED AP BD+C
Design Director
RLF Architects
Orlando, Florida

How hasACHA certification enhanced your career in healthcare architecture and/or design?
Certification has differentiated me within the healthcare field demonstrating to others that I have high level of knowledge and experience with this building type that brings value to my clients.

What would you say to anyone interested in the field?
It is a difficult, but greatly needed project type that is a cornerstone of our society and community. I can not think of a more rewarding and satisfying opportunity as a profession.

What led you to becoming ACHA certified?
First, to broaden and deepen my knowledge of all aspects of the healthcare field, secondly to prove to others this knowledge, and finally to encourage others in our firm to do this as well!

How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected you personally or your practice?
Our work has increased, but at a price: we have had to adapt to working remotely affecting learning how to collaborate, create, and deliver in a new way. We have converted many of our client's existing facilities as well as creating new field hospitals to aid in the care of people with this affliction. In hindsight, it has been hard, but rewarding.
